Undoubtedly the best-preserved site on the Belgian coast that bears witness to the eventful events that took place here during the last century.
From the beginning of the 20th century and for more than 80 years, a vast Belgian Royal Estate, where the German armies built a complex network of bunkers and defences during the two World Wars and which formed part of the infamous Atlantic Wall during World War II.
Today a vast open-air museum, unique of its kind in Europe.
The one-and-a-half hour tour visits either Battery Aachen (WWI) or Battery Saltzwedel-Neu (WWII).
The two-hour walk visits both batteries led by our guide.
